Liveness online in deadly times

This study was initiated as the pandemic erupted in spring of 2020, triggered by our curiosity about wave Internet-mediated concerts which followed wake COVID-19. The article examines what kind social and cultural phenomenon these events were, how their presentational participatory potential explored within a few, hectic months. Basing analysis on interviews with 13 performers four promoters Norway, we find that performances transcended traditional modes live innovative ways, while responding to stresses associated crisis. We identify three performance strategies, intimization, intensification expansion, different ways rearticulated established musical expression fusing them liveness mediated communication.
